IMTIAZ, the brand of Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company, has announced the launch of Mastercard Click to Pay in the Kingdom of Bahrain, making it one of the first financial institutions in the financial sector approved for this service in the Kingdom. This achievement reflects IMTIAZ’s firm commitment to offering innovative, seamless payment solutions free of complications. Click to Pay is a global solution for completing online payments that lets customers complete their purchases without manually entering card details, providing a fast, password-free payment experience backed by EMVCo®-approved identity verification standards and Mastercard’s network tokenisation technology.
On this occasion, Mr. Ali Al Marzooq, Chief Information Technology Officer at Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company, said: “We are pleased to be among the first credit card issuers in the Kingdom of Bahrain to offer Click to Pay in partnership with Mastercard. By integrating this service into the Sahel app, we give our customers a faster, more secure online payment experience, strengthening their connection to our digital platform.”
In a step that deepens this integration, IMTIAZ has built Click to Pay registration directly into the Sahel app, winner of the Bahrain Digital Content Award 2024/2025, using Mastercard technology. Customers can register their IMTIAZ Mastercard in a few simple steps, with card details and billing address completed automatically from their saved profiles, subject to the applicable consent and security verification controls, making Sahel a central digital gateway for IMTIAZ cardholders.
For his part, Mr. Saud Sawar, General Manager of Mastercard for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan and the Levant, added: “Mastercard is committed to offering a wide range of innovative solutions that meet growing consumer demand for seamless payment options. The service is designed to work seamlessly across devices, browsers and a growing merchant network, and is made stronger by the Mastercard Payment Passkey Service, which uses device-based biometric authentication such as fingerprint and face recognition, together with tokenisation, to authenticate transactions securely. By removing the need for passwords and one-time codes, passkeys improve both security and speed: no sensitive payment data is shared with third parties, and any data that is intercepted becomes useless in the hands of fraudsters, turning the online payment experience into one that is faster, safer, easier and more intuitive.
