Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company has announced the successful completion of its technical integration with the upgraded eKey 2.0 system, the official national digital identity framework of the Kingdom of Bahrain, through the Sahel app, a step that reflects the company’s continued commitment to modernising its digital infrastructure, raising the quality of its services and offering its customers seamless digital experiences.
The upgraded eKey 2.0 system is built on internationally recognised digital identity standards, which has allowed the company to replace traditional authentication methods with an advanced, biometric-based access framework. By integrating face recognition technology and data retrieval through the electronic Know Your Customer (eKYC) system, customers can now complete registration and authentication faster and with greater accuracy, reducing the risk of identity impersonation and unauthorised access, and meeting the requirements of the Central Bank of Bahrain and the Personal Data Protection Law. In addition, removing reliance on passwords inherently strengthens the security of the company’s digital channels.
