Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company, one of the oldest national financing institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced the inauguration of its new integrated Islamic finance window, “Tasheelat Islamic”, coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan. The launch is a historic milestone in the company’s decades-long journey of serving Bahraini society, as it enters, for the first time in its history, the field of offering financing products that comply with the provisions of Islamic Sharia, opening new horizons for a broad segment of customers who have long looked for financing services that combine Sharia compliance with the company’s established professional expertise.
This strategic direction stems from the company’s deep and firm belief in the principle of financial inclusion, one of the fundamental pillars of its corporate approach. From this standpoint, the decision to launch the Islamic window was a real response to growing demand for Sharia-compliant financing solutions, and an effort to enable all customers to benefit from its long financing experience. The Islamic window has begun by offering Sharia-compliant vehicle financing solutions as a first phase, with personal financing and real estate financing products to be introduced soon, giving customers an integrated range of Islamic financing options that meet their various needs. All of these products are distinguished by transparency in dealings and full compliance with Sharia standards, as well as competitive features, simplified procedures and flexible repayment.
On this occasion, Mr. Abdulla Abdulrazzaq Bukhowa, Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Commercial Facilities Company, said: “We are pleased and honoured to announce the inauguration of our Islamic window coinciding with the holy month of Ramadan, at a historic and defining moment that is the first of its kind in our long-established company’s journey. This step reflects our firm belief in the importance of financial inclusion and in every customer’s right to financing solutions that match their aspirations. We were keen for this Islamic window to be comprehensive and integrated from its launch: we offer Sharia-compliant vehicle financing solutions, and we are working hard to launch Islamic personal financing and real estate financing in the near future. We are confident that our customers will notice the difference in the quality of service and the flexibility we offer, while maintaining the highest standards of Sharia compliance thanks to the supervision of a prestigious Sharia Supervisory Board.”
Mr. Bukhowa affirmed that the company will continue to invest in developing and expanding its Islamic products gradually, strengthening its market position and meeting the growing needs of customers, noting that the launch is the fruit of intensive efforts and in-depth market studies carried out over months to ensure the delivery of high-quality products that compete with the best available in the market.
To ensure the highest degree of compliance with Sharia standards and rulings, the company announced the appointment of a specialised Sharia Supervisory Board to oversee all products and services of the Islamic window at the various stages of their development and execution. The Board includes a select group of scholars and specialists recognised for their competence and experience in Islamic financial jurisprudence: Sheikh Dr. Osama Bahar as Chairman of the Sharia Supervisory Board, and Sheikh Dr. Naji Al Arabi and Sheikh Waleed Al Mahmoud as members. The Board’s members will review and approve all financing products, contracts and procedures relating to the Islamic window, to ensure their full compliance with the provisions of Islamic Sharia, giving customers peace of mind and full confidence in the soundness of their financing transactions.
